The conventional fire places or the gas heaters are efficient only when a chimney is also installed in them and as a consequence of which their installation as well as the maintenance cost is high. The Gas Fires consist of a glass sheet which does not permit the gas to escape. The heater is responsible for the burning of these gases and the catalytic converter is responsible for the removal of harmful gases like carbon monoxide.

Thus, the clean gas or air is emitted from the top of these Gas Fires and heat up the room or any other workplace. The configuration of these Gas Fires is very sleek and more or less look like a TV screen. They are safer and reliable as compared to the other fireplaces. However, the major drawback of this flue less Gas Fires is that they are a bit costly as compared to the conventional Gas Fires because of the installation of the catalytic converter. The catalytic converter is manufactured from the platinum which is an expensive metal.
