ORIGIN OF NUMBER PLATES

The act made it mandatory for every vehicle to have its own unique registration, and display it in an alphanumeric way on plate. Soon after that, number plates came into force being first issued in London. It then emerged out to be a rage and many individuals owned number plates. Of late number plates were just meant for displaying a vehicle registration number but nowadays it serves more than that. Personal number plates have a personal meaning to the owner of the car.
The combination or design selected could be a name, a job title or any thing that gives the owners identification. These number plates add a special attribute to the cars and make its spottier. Apart from this, number plates also serve to advertise a particular company or an individual. There are many specialist dealers engaged in the purpose of selling registration to individuals, they can sell only by complying the necessary laws imposed by the government. The government has posed several legal obligations for issuance of number plates, only dealers who are registered with driver and vehicle licensing can sell these number plates to customers.
